Year 6 Visit to Ripley St Thomas

A group of year 6 children who will be attending Ripley in September attended a Science Day with other Primary and Secondary Schools from the area. The children were set two challenges in mixed groups 1. to make a bridge which could carry cans across and build a robot and plan a route for it. The children worked well in their groups and came up with some inventive ideas to carry out the task.

World Book Day

All the children and staff dressed up as a character from a Traditional Tale. Our thanks goes to parents who were very inventive with the costumes they produced. The children enjoyed the story of The Enormous Turnip which the staff acted out for them in the afternoon. This is one way in which we encourage the children to enjoy reading books.

Year 5 Visit To Wildlife Oasis

Year 5 went to the Wildlife Oasis and had the opportunity to hold a variety of spiders and insects. They were accompanied by a number of parent helpers who were also brave enough to hold the spiders.
